Already they have confirmed their participation of 150 Staff Members and 60 students. More are expected to appear (mainly from our local community).
Our Academic program includes the following:

10 Lectures (45 minutes duration each) in Soft & Research Skills Development (open for all).
10 Workshops (120 minutes duration each) in Soft Skills & Research Skills Development (open for our BIP students only).
20 University Presentations (15 minutes plus 5 for questions) (open to all).
A round table discussion involving academics, Governors, Administrators, and students about the Internationalization of Higher Education (open to all).
Nine invited lectures and a lab workshop in electronics (for our HMU students, participants in the international week, and staff).
Meeting ATHENA European University Meeting (where other universities’ career offices’ representatives) can also participate.
Projects’ presentation: five European projects will be presented.
The Departments’ International Conference EEITE where you can take a spell of the research happens by our Department’s staff members.

Payments
You can pay everywhere with your credit cards. However, in taxis, in the majority of cases, you will need to pay in cash, and also on the buses. The currency we use is Euros.
Finally, everyone in Chania speaks English.

Weather
The weather is expected to be warm (25 Celcius) during the event.

Registration
The registration will start on Monday, 15th of May at 0800 AM. Due to the number of participants, please be on time and let our personnel know of any needs (stamps, signatures, printing you’d like to have). Our staff is ready to help you but also needs your collaboration. Moreover, useful information will be provided by our team during the registration.

Interact with them. However, for the organization of the event, you have collaborated a lot with our colleagues in IRO: Ms. Georgia Alexaki, Ms. Eva Menegaki, Dr. Garethw Owens, Ms. Gloria Vega, Mr. Andreas Lourandakis (Chania) and Ms. Anna Orfanoudaki. Without them, nothing will happen.

Lecture Rooms
This internationalization event will take place in three main rooms within the department. More specifically:

The soft and research skills lectures will take place in the main lecture room (ground floor).
The soft & research skills workshops will occur in Room 8 (10.15 – 12.15) and the main lecture room (14.15 – 16.00).
The universities’ and projects’ presentations will be in the main lecture room (ground floor).
The round table discussion for the Internationalization of higher education will occur in room 8 (1st floor).
The invited lectures in electronics will take place in room 8 (1st-floor new building).
The ATHENA Career Office will happen in the conference room on the ground floor new building.
The EEITE conference will take place in Room 8 (1st floor).

Our staff will place labeling outside of the rooms but also show how to reach them. Our volunteer students and staff will be with us to support you in finding the correct room.

Services

Wi-Fi connection: Eduroam operates in our department. However, a backup wifi system has been installed for colleagues without access to eduroam. Posters with access to the latter will be disposed of within the rooms the events will take place.
All rooms the activities will take place have computer and projector facilities. In the main lecture room also, audio support will be provided.
All the lectures & workshops will be recorded, and the recordings will be available through our website sometime (not later than two weeks) after the event.
The event will offer to all the participants (free of cost) a farewell dinner on Thursday at 20.00 o’clock in Platananias. On the ground floor of the Department, there is a cafeteria where you can have your coffee, lunch, and dinner.
However, around the Department, there are two more cafeterias, one bakery, and two more restaurants (Mama’s place) for your lunch and dinners. Please have a look at the links in google maps of these places:
